Georgia musician set to perform at April's Art on the Avenue

  A Georgia musician will perform at this years Art on the Avenue at the request of an old friend of the late country music legend Hank Williams.

  Highland Park resident Mae Jarrett, whose husband M.C. Jarrett played steel guitar in Williams' Drifting Cowboys band, invited Joey Allcorn to perform during the annual arts and crafts street fair on April 27th.

  "He'll be performing some of Hank Sr.'s songs next month during the festival." Jarrett said. Allcorn is a 22 year old traveling musician who visits the Montgomery area regularly for performances.

  Art on the Avenue will feature a parade down Highland Avenue, entertainment, food and artwork. The event is sponsored by the Highland Park Association.
