Upcoming Joey Allcorn Release
- Columbus, GA
Joey Allcorn will have a song featured on "The United State of Americana Vol. 2" which is scheduled to be released by Atlanta based Shut Eye Records. The compilation disc will also feature tracks by Barn Hill Station, The Lonetones, Hunter Harvey, Inka, The Lonesomes, Anthony Neff, The Blind Robins, Jay Brandt, Vine Allen, and other rootsy Americana artists.
Allcorn and the label decided on "I Just Don't Know," from the band's 2002 "Nashville EP" release, as the track to appear on the compilation. "In the first moments of this song, you hear the sweetness and darkness that was so dominate in country classics. You have captured that time and brought it to the modern era." said Kerry Gibson, Shut Eye Records southeast A&R representative, of the tune composed by Allcorn.
The song was re-recorded at the brand new "Loft Studios" in the bands home town of Columbus, GA.
Formerly known as "This Is Alt.Country," "The United States of Americana" series is preceded by a long line of successful compilation releases. Most notably is Shut Eye's critically acclaimed "Buzzlighter," featuring such artists as Midnight Oil, Mary Lou Lord, Norah Jones, the D4, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Matt Pond PA. Clout has already been built for the series by its previous successes as well as the release of Volume One and Two of the "This Is Alt.Country" series.
